Creative Writting
I am never not playing music. I play music while cleaning, walking, studying, and even sleeping—it’s my holy grail. I’d like to say I’m not obsessed, but the first statement contradicts that claim. You can find music for just about any mood! And that’s what I love most about it. Feeling down and wanting to keep that vibe? Listen to Billie Eilish. Feeling hyped and want to maintain that energy? EDM is your go-to. With all the music apps available today, you can easily curate any playlist you desire.
Another way I use music is to protect my introverted self—and I’m really good at this. Imagine walking around campus and being stopped by all these social media content creators wanting to film something with you. You’d be drained if you indulged them all! So I don’t. I wear my AirPods every time I’m outside, walking briskly, avoiding eye contact, lest they assume I’m open to engaging.
I know I come off as rude, but hear me out: imagine having your worst day and encountering a content creator who asks you all sorts of questions while your brain can’t process fast enough to respond. Then, after some clever editing, you find yourself trending on social media as a meme and the poster child for stupidity. I simply could not handle that! So, music it is.
I often find myself completely absorbed in the songs, living within the lyrics every time I play music. If you look closely, you’ll see me walking in sync with the rhythm of the song I’m playing—bouncing to the beat, nodding along, and if I’m really in the zone, I’ll sit down and just enjoy the music as it’s meant to be enjoyed, with undivided attention.
I’ve been rambling a lot about music, but let me tell you where it all started and why I love it. Growing up, my dad had a vinyl record player that no one was allowed to touch but him. On his days off, he would spend the whole day relaxing and playing his records. That left an impression on me. I began to associate relaxation with music. I knew that music meant leaving your worries behind, even if just for a day, and feeling carefree. Over time, I started doing the same, but of course with more advanced technology. I began discovering and organizing music in my Spotify playlists, listening to them more frequently, without waiting for any special occasion. Music became my daily vibe and my fortress, as I searched for good tunes, studied the lyrics, and internalized their meanings. I think it’s brilliant to try to understand what the songwriter intended when they wrote a particular song—or whether they even intended anything at all.
Last night, I was listening to Frank Ocean’s “Thinkin Bout You” again; it’s my comfort song. First of all, his music is divine. I love his voice and the way he conveys his message. I tried to imagine where the inspiration for the song came from, and I just got lost in it. He was in his element with this one, especially with the wordplay, when he says, “Since you think I don’t love you, I just thought you were cute that’s why I kissed you.” The entire song is filled with sarcasm, with subtle hints of him trying to confess his love to this person. I think this song perfectly captures the current dating scene, where people are increasingly perfecting the art of detachment and nonchalance.

Annotations: I design a conversation between me and my friend, to show impact of music on our emotions and mindset. It shows that music is more than just background noise; it’s a source of comfort, motivation, or release in different moments. The right music offten offer the emotional support in different situation.
It also show how each person’s inner world has its own soundtrack, with a song that touches the soul and transports us. Our playlists are not just music—they express emotions and reflect our mental state.
The key takeaway for the audience is that in a busy world, music can be a personal “shield,” helping us reconnect with our emotions, express ourselves, and find inner peace.
Web Content Creation

Annotations:I was inspired by the way music is expressed, and I found that music can be represented on a variety of mediums such as vinyl, headphones, MP3s, record players, music festivals and so on. So I think the diversity and innovation of music carriers are also part of music, and also different way of displaying music will bring the audience different feeling to the music.
